"Voices of the Earth"
a unique environmetal storybook with pictures to color based on the premise that,
If we feel something for anything - we will protect it!
Kristen is an author, artist, singer, health practitioner and educator. Her books and music reveals her journey through life as a lover of nature, art and spiritual freedom. The books are focused on the threatened and endangered ones of different regions. She honors them and gives them a voice. Her blogs, songs and videos reflect best how deeply she cares.
What follows in blog and song shows a difficult time for her when she tried her best to protect an environmentally-sensitive region in California from destruction. She sang to five large Blue Oaks. One was saved. Looking back she states that many lessons were learned and many gifts were received. The Blue Oak Tribute and The Voice for Trees with The Ho'oponopono Prayer tell it best.
BIG BLUE OAK
Synchronicities, events, people, and environments can come together at quantum levels - one one-thousandth of an inch and smaller - in momentous and miraculous ways. Generally, we do not know why such things occur, but often look back in wonderment. Living more with the ‘mystery of things’ is the natural way of the human heart. Music can be the best translator.
#151 - The Big Blue Oak
January 2017 began my initiation back into environmental activism through education and music, but I had much to learn…. The Old Blue Oak taught me well. Blue Oak taught me how to keep my heart open and do what is right when all else seemed terribly wrong.
In January of 2017, I heard a man inquire while walking through my parking lot, "Where are the trees coming down?" When I heard him, something shifted inside of me as I realized how deeply connected I was to the nature area behind my home. I was to quickly learn that many old oaks and a riparian forest were to come down in an expansion project by California Transit and I could do nothing to stop it.
I took my blanket, sage and crystal bowl out onto the land the next day and sang my prayers. I turned the fire of outrage deep into myself and alchemized it into love. I had to. Blue Oak taught me how. Just as when a loved one passes - the best we can do is really the only thing we can do, and that is to fully love them. I poured mine out as I warned all who could sense and hear that trauma was coming. "Be gone if thee can," I whispered as I walked.
Around the same time, I was asked to be a part of a book, an anthology called, Warrior Women With Angel Wings - Born to Love. A song came through me and I called it, Born to Love. I thought it was for the book at the time, but it was really for the Blue Oak and so much more.

Breathe with a Tree and have your heart opened, nurtured, strengthened and rooted.
I have no doubt that trees have biofields that interact with us, and it is our intention to prove this. ~ Rollin McCraty PhD, Director of Research at www.HeartMath.com
Blue Oak 151 (pictured at top of page) did go down unfortunately, but thankfully the one at the top of the hill (185) still stands. I tried to interest the Sierra Club Chapter to post an Honor Roll for the trees, but was unsuccessful. Below is the Tree Meditation with Ho’oponopono Hawaiian Prayer. I sang to both Blue Oaks 151, 185 and two others before I recorded the song. I am grateful to have done so. The next Blue Oak Tribute video shows me singing to the two that went down, and also shows #151 upon the ground. It is with love that we transcend all, and with action we make things right that are wrong.
