Lady Freedom
The Lady of Freedom statue that stands atop the Capitol building in Washington D.C. is the symbol for World Peace and Freedom. She stands at the intersection between the old order and the New Earth invoking the Universal Mother Spirit in human form. The essence of The Lady of Freedom has the ability to unite all people, the land, the country – and by extension – the world and the cosmos.
The Lady Freedom Circle was a gathering of individuals who chose to Circle Around Lady Freedom (CALF) and seek the spirit of America - the principle of Freedom itself. As a result, personal relationships were formed and a sense of responsibility arose. In these times of great change, we must continue to call out for high vision to help us create a brighter and more compassionate world for our children and all future generations.
In past years, we have had the honor to be in sacred space and conversation with the women of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy - The Original Keepers of Peace and Power and The Good Mind; that which inspired our U.S. Constitution and our Declaration of Independence through their Great Law of Peace. Their visions have added much to our own.
We do well to understand more of this Great Law of Peace - The Gayanashagowa or Great Binding Law, and how it supported and helped to create our Constitutional Republic. There is much to learn. See the audio recordings below and the Mohawk Bear Clan Mother series. Feel free to contact for any questions. A form is located at the bottom of each page for your convenience.
The Lady Freedom Circle Pilot Program was a success! and is included as a PDF below for your interest.

How I Found Lady Freedom
by Kris Farquhar
One fine summer day in Colorado 2005, I was called and hired to sing for a nearby friend and composer. I went to his home-studio to record the piece. I had heard a little of it and was excited for I knew I could sing freely with vocables. There were no words and no melody, just a chord structure, or rhythm track. It was beautiful. I went into the sound room and gave myself to the music.
During the recording, I had an experience. The next day, I went back to the composer and explained my vision. He called the song, Trail of Tears. You can hear it below.
In 2009, I moved to California and set up a home-recording studio of my own. Trail of Tears was my second project. The Florida Everglades - Endangered Land was my first in 2010. I was very happy to finally put visuals to the experience in Colorado.
As one can surmise, the experience I had in 2005 was with, The People. I was one of about 20-25 Indigenous people running down the long slope of a hill through fields trying to get to the forest to hide. There was snow and it was cold. There were women and children and elders. We tried holding each other up as we ran. It was difficult. That’s what I remembered.
But when I was about to add photographs to it in 2010 — I do Environmental Music Films — something shifted. The story expanded and the voice singing became that of a Universal Mother force or spirit that saw all her children, throughout all their lifetimes, struggling and in pain. She cried for them and she blamed herself as mothers often do. But then she settled inside and realized that she and they both had to find forgiveness, for it was the only way that life could prosper and move forward.
I didn’t know where the film would end when I started. That is part of my enjoyment when I create my music films. It’s as if they create themselves in the moment. The journey of the Universal Mother’s face and names changed throughout the old and new world over time to finally and ultimately come upon a magnificent statue above the Capitol Building in Washington DC.
I had no idea who she was, and there was very little on the internet in regards to the Statue of Freedom. I did, however, find one short YouTube video that struck my heart! I wrote in the comment section, “We need to bring her alive!”
